What Is Unshaming? Why You Shrink, and How to Come Home to Your Brilliance
For years I contorted myself.
I dimmed my truth, softened my opinions, and rationalized other people's hurtful behavior to keep the connection and the illusion of safety. Then a trusted friend ended our relationship without warning, and I was devastated. I'd been over-accommodating, holding on to something that was already gone.
The hardest part to admit? I didn't treasure myself.
That's the cost of shame. And it's why I created Unshame Your Brilliance.
Shame Is a Lens, Not a Truth
Shame isn't just a feeling. It's a lens ~ one that distorts how you see yourself and others. It quietly (or not so quietly) runs the show:
You feel like you're too much or not enough, sometimes in the same sentence.
You say "I don't know" when you actually do.
You freeze, wondering, "What will they think of me?"
You hide, self-censor, and reject yourself before anyone else has the chance.
You water down your needs or apologize for your aliveness.
You keep trying to heal, fix, or change parts of yourself.
Many of us learned early that it feels safer to shrink than to shine. The pulpit, the family, the culture handed us a script for how a good woman should want, love, dress, pray, earn and take up space. Be pleasant. Be small. Give until nothing is left. Don't be too much.
You played the part beautifully. And underneath it, something wild has been waiting.
So, What Is Unshaming?
Unshaming is a reverent, embodied, intuitive, process-oriented approach to shadow work. It's rooted in the belief that you're not a problem to be fixed; you are brilliance waiting to be remembered.
Most growth work teaches you to manage or overcome your patterns. Unshaming invites you to meet the deeper intelligence beneath them.
We don't pathologize. We don't "fix." We listen. We witness. We follow the energy of what wants to be seen, felt, or spoken. Through a gentle somatic process, we bring light to the parts of you that got pushed into shadow, and let the gifts inside them come home.
What Comes Home When Shame Lets Go
Every part of you that was shamed into hiding didn't disappear. It went underground, holding a gift.
The Wild One, exiled by "Sit still. Be a lady. Calm down." Her gift: ecstatic movement and a body that's allowed to feel.
The Lover, exiled by "Wanting is dangerous. Pleasure is suspect." Her gift: deep love and pleasure without apology.
The Priestess, exiled by "Someone else holds the keys to the sacred." Her gift: your own direct line to the divine.
The Queen, exiled by "Wanting money means caring less about people." Her gift: sovereignty, receiving, and being richly paid for your gifts.
The Creatrix, exiled by "Who do you think you are?" Her gift: your voice, your art, your full self-expression.
Your Questions About Unshaming
What Is Unshaming, in Plain Words?
A gentle, body-based way of doing shadow work. Instead of analyzing or fixing your patterns, we slow down, listen to what your body is holding, and let the parts you hid out of shame be seen. The gifts in those parts come back with them.
How Is Unshaming Different From Self-Help?
Most self-help is about overcoming the parts of you that cause pain. Unshaming is about integrating them. You stop treating yourself like a problem to solve and start meeting yourself with reverence.
Is Unshaming Therapy?
No. Unshaming is coaching and somatic shadow work, not therapy or medical care. If you're working through religious trauma or a health condition, I'll gladly point you toward a licensed professional to walk alongside this work.
Who Is Unshaming For?
It's for you if you grew up in a faith or family that made your body, desire or ambition feel dangerous. If you battle a loud inner critic or pressure to get it "right." If you've played the good girl, the good wife or the strong one so long you forgot who's underneath. Or if you hold shame about things you've never spoken aloud.
What Happens in a Session?
You bring whatever is alive in your system, from creative blocks to heartbreak, body tension to self-doubt. I bring my full presence, intuitive guidance and deep reverence for your humanity. Together we follow what wants to be seen, felt or spoken.
How Does the Bundle Work?
It's 10 private 1:1 sessions, 50 minutes each, plus an intro video that grounds you in the Unshaming Process. The journey is designed to be immersive, so all sessions are scheduled and completed within 4 months. The investment is $2,250 in full, or 4 monthly payments of $562.50.
